TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Cat J’s Academy of Dance is committed to the safety of all persons who attended our lessons and to deliver the highest standard of service.

Participating in a Cat J’s Academy of Dance class is entirely at your own risk without proven negligence, breach of duty of care or lack of due diligence by Cat J’s Academy of Dance.

Classes

Classes are structured around the IDTA dance syllabus. For Health and safety reasons all children should wear the dance uniform as specified and appropriate dance shoes (tap. Ballet or trainers). Dancing in socks or fancy dress is not permitted unless in a special event. Hair should always be tied up and out of the dancers’ face.

Classes run in terms throughout the year. You can join a class at any time if a space is available and just pay for the remainder of the term. Alternatively, you can join the waiting list for the following term.

Once you have completed your booking you will receive a confirmation email. This indicates that you have read and agreed to the terms and conditions.

Payment Methods

Payment can be made via bank transfer or via card for a £1 fee and must be paid before the start of the term. Your place will only be confirmed upon full payment. An acknowledgement will be sent with payment details however booking confirmation will only be sent when payment is received. Unfortunately, if payment is late then an administration fee will be applied.

1-1 lessons will be charged on a weekly basis, if your child cannot attend 12 hours’ notice is required otherwise 50% of the agreed fee will be charged

Refunds:

A course or event may be cancelled provided you inform Cat J’s Academy of Dance in writing within 7 days of the course/event commencing.

Covid:

If we do go into a full lockdown, I will teach the classes from Zoom at the same time as your original lesson. I will not be able to roll over fees or give refunds if this happens. All other guidance regarding Covid 19 is on a separate document. For special events a full refund will be given.

Holidays and Sickness Policy:

Regrettably we cannot offer discounts or refunds to cover your booked holidays or sickness due to the need to ensure continuity of service. 

Cancellation of Classes

Cat J’s Academy of Dance will endeavour to run classes during bad weather e.g snowy conditions.

On the very rare occasions where we need to cancel a class or event due to safety concerns, parents will be notified via Facebook ‘Cat J’s Academy of Dance’ as well as being contacted by text message and/or email.

An additional class will be offered if we have to cancel a /event or a refund offered against a future term’s fees. Regrettably we cannot offer cash refunds.

Cat J’s Academy of Dance has a commitment to ensure that the equipment and activities are value and worth to everyone regardless of race, culture, language, gender, age, experience, religion, background, ability or disability.

Data Protection:

Currently the data we hold is the registration form, records of exams taken, emails and messages either via What’s App, Messenger or Text. Some data such as your child’s name, DOB and exam code is shared with IDTA when they take exams.

All of these forms are protected by three levels of security – in a locked safe, in a locked office and in a locked building. If the forms are signed electronically they are kept on a computer that has encryption and is password protected. All phone numbers and email addresses are protected by a password on both my home laptop and mobile phone – mobile phone numbers are also encrypted.

The software that I use ‘Dance Biz’ is GDPR compliant and has high levels of security and anti-virus software. My full GDPR and safeguarding policies are always available on request.

Protection of Property:

Please note that your property left in bags is your responsibility and Cat J’s Academy of Dance cannot take any responsibility for the safeguarding of these items.
